My friend after he told me a really sad one about dying turtles (GASP!).  So I told him a story that killed off something he holds dear.

Banana Custard

Once there was a pony named Banana Custard.  He was really cute with big eyes and he was chubby.  Then he saw a poster advertising a flying contest.  Banana Custard really wanted to fly but he didn't have wings so he went through the black market and got illegal wing surgery.  On the day of the race he showed up and climbed a tower that went 10,000,000 miles into the air.  Then he jumped.  Unfortunately,  the wings had become infected from the surgery so he fell to his death.  He was so chubby that when he hit the ground he caused a sonic boom that destroyed Equestria and killed everyone there.
